Where is Bosch Classic Infos?
- Mercedes-Benz R107 450 SL, Mercedes-Benz W111 280 SE Cabrio

Bosch Classic - other than Lucas, Siemens or VDO - has always been a very fine company when it was about providing us with informations on historical documents for our classic cars. I have praised Bosch several times for that. It took me much more time to document Lucas supplied D-Jetronic in Jaguar XJ12. And when I tried to compile Thermo time switch data made by VDO, I failed. Robert Bosch GmbH distinguished itself in a very pleasant way from the rest.. We had:
- Equipment lists for all our cars even listing which components was used in which year
- Product information listed by Bosch and OEM numbers
- Cross usage lists to show where else that product was used
- Spare parts lists
- Specification lists for products. Here we could find important hints.
- Fotos or schemes of products
- Replacements, reproductions and availability
- operation manuals of histroric instruments
That is how we classic car owners were able to help ourselves and find right spare parts from Bosch. I always appreciated and could help many forum members with such informations.
A few years ago we also had Bosch Service Manuals covering topics like:
- Mechanical fuel injection pumps
3 months ago Bosch suddenly switched off Car and product information on Bosch Classic Knowledge. Since then we are continuously put off. It shall restart on Sep, 1, then Oct, 1 and now they write
We improve our service for you. Therefore vehicle search as well as product search are unavailable for a longer period of time. Thank you for your understanding.
When I had asked about status and restart mid September I did not receive any answer. So I feel like a Deja-Vu of the situation I faced with Bosch Service manuals. Also there Bosch announced years ago that they stopped selling the old ones in order to improve the quality. I even created an Eglisch M110 service manual on their request for them. Result is known. After 1 year of waiting we were told that there will be no replacement as no one needs such manuals.
That is why I fear that the invaluable knowledge of Bosch Classic products will also not return to their Bosch Classic web site after we will wait and wait for it. That would be a catastrophy. Therefore please
Use Bosch Classic official email address and telephone and ask for these informations. Let Bosch not tell us in a few months that no one is interested and therefore there is no need of such informations. Please publish their answers here.
Viele Schraubergrüße - best regards, Dr-DJet Volker
